Clarion County residents, community organizations, and local stakeholders are invited to a public presentation on a proposed countywide 988 Crisis Lifeline community awareness initiative.

What Will Be Presented:

• Goals and outreach strategies of the proposed campaign
• An opportunity for residents to review the plan and offer feedback before implementation
• Planned audiences: adults throughout Clarion County; individuals and families affected by substance use, addiction, and recovery; youth and school communities; faith communities; and residents attending community events
• Proposed tactics: billboards, paid digital and streaming advertising, social media, school and faith community resources, community outreach, a dedicated campaign website, and communications aimed at individuals affected by substance use and addiction

“Before we move into implementation, we want the people of Clarion County to have an opportunity to see the campaign, understand how we propose reaching different audiences and tell us what resonates with them,” said Commissioner Braxton White. “This is ultimately a campaign for Clarion County residents, so community input is an important part of making sure the messaging is hopeful, approachable and relevant to the people we are trying to reach.” 

The campaign is being developed around simple, supportive messages that encourage people to reach out when they need help and reinforce awareness of 988 as an easy-to-remember resource available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“We want this initiative to reflect the people and communities of Clarion County,” said Clarion County Commissioner Wayne Brosius. “988 is an important resource, but it only works if people know what it is, remember the number and feel comfortable reaching out when they or someone they care about needs help.” 

Who Will Be There: Representatives from Corkboard Concepts, along with community leaders, volunteers, and stakeholders involved in the initiative.
