This talk will describe recent developments regarding the assessment and prediction of suicidal and nonsuicidal self-injurious thoughts and behaviors among Veterans. Topics covered will include the development and validation of the Durham Risk Score, the Screen for Nonsuicidal Self-Injury, and ongoing efforts to use machine learning approaches to improve the prediction of suicide among Veterans through integration and analysis of electronic health record data, geospatial data, natural language processing, and genomics.
