Virtual :: 1-hour :: Suicide Prevention: Links to Substance Use Disorder Care

A virtual training designed for mental health professionals, health care providers, and social service professionals on reducing access to lethal means for individuals at risk of suicide.

The SP/SUD course focuses on how to reduce access to methods commonly used in suicide, such as firearms and medication. This training teaches professionals who work with individuals at risk for suicide—and their families—how to conduct lethal means counseling and implement strategies to restrict access to means that could lead to self-harm.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify individuals who would benefit from lethal means counseling.
  • Learn effective strategies to work with at-risk individuals and their families.
  • Understand the impact of access to lethal means on suicide prevention efforts.
