Social Determinants of Health Call Series
November 2, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
SAMHSA’s Service Members, Veterans, and their Families Technical Assistance Center (SMVF TA Center) is pleased to present the TA Call Series “Social Determinants of Health” (SDOH), taking place November 2, 9, and 16, 2021. This series will provide a unique opportunity to discuss challenges and ask questions about the SDOH.
According to a 2020 analysis of Electronic Healthcare Record data between 2015 and 2016, of nearly 300,000 inpatient or outpatient visits from the Veterans Integrated Service Network 4, adverse SDOH are strong predictors of suicide risk.
In this series, we will explore how state and local suicide prevention efforts can positively impact the SMVF community. Each session will build on the previous session.
The 101 session will provide attendees with foundational information on how SDOH, as identified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), can be applied to the military-affiliated population in your community.
We are pleased to invite you to register for one or more calls in the series!
Social Determinants of Health: 101
